6th Annual B4K Winter Banquet Presented by "Team Timmy"
January 30th 2010

Benefit4Kids would like to thank everyone that had a part in making the 2010 B4K Winter Pig Roast Fundraiser a complete success!  With your help we were able to raise an unprecedented $42,000 for our “Outdoor Wish Program”!  This total completely exceeded our expectations and goals.  Despite the economy we once again shattered last year's record profit of $34,000 with ease.  Everyone should be proud  of this result as it took a team effort to pull this off and we would like to thank everyone that helped make this banquet a success in any way.  All of this was possible because of the numerous businesses, clubs, individuals, and organizations that stepped up to make a difference in the life of a child!

A few notable things to mention from this year's event are:
     - We hosted yet another sell out crowd, which was sold out a full 2 months early
     - We sold all 52 table sponsors, plus 2 extra
     - We had more sponsors in general (Awareness Sponsors, Dream Arrow Sponsors,
etc.) than in years past - 11 in total
     - The addition of the Balloon Game, Combination Gun Safe Raffle, and Rose Raffle were
        a huge success
     - The "Hat Auction" for the special gun went over way better than ever imagined bringing
       in just over $3,300 alone!
     - Thank you Matt Hill for the idea and the donation of the hats to bring in that amount
     - Working with Dick Williams Gun Shop was not only a pleasure but a relief in finding
such a caring business to work with

Sporting Clay Benefit Shotgun Shoot - Island Lake Shooting Range - July 11th 2009
Information about the shoot
Thank you to Island Lake Shooting Range and those that came out to shoot in helping B4K raise just over $600.00 while enjoying the shooting sports.
Salmon Fishing Tournament - July 25th - 26th 2009 - Fisherman's Landing, Muskegon MI
Thank you West Michigan Fishing League for supporting Benefit4Kids through the 2nd Annual “Dreamweaver Charity Fun Fishing Tournament”.  A total of $5666.00 was raised through this years event to send Kevin Hertz on his “Outdoor Wish” to Alaska to fish for Salmon!  None of this would have been possible with out the 44 boats that fished the waters of Lake MI that day, all the sponsors that donated cash or products for the raffles, or all those members that donated their time to make this happen and see it though!  Thank you everyone involved with the 2nd Annual “Dreamweaver Charity Fun Fishing Tournament” and for helping us help kids!

Benefit4Kids recently held our annual June Fundraiser “The Pig Pen Ranch’s 12th Annual Amy Pray Benefit4Kids Outdoor Weekend” on June 13th & 14th 2009.  This event started out with the threat of rain, but that held off, and the weekend turned out to be better than ever!  Although attendance seemed to be down some from past years, which can be contributed to many factors, this did not stop the energy and enthusiasm of those there to support our cause!

We would like to thank each and everyone one of you that had any part in making this years “Outdoor Weekend” such a success!  We don’t want to miss anyone, so we will group everyone under the general term of “Volunteers”, and sincerely hope that you know who you are and/or what you did to help kids at this fundraiser!  While it takes a lot to put on this event, everyone came together and did their part to make it the success that it was.  Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with various parts of the weekend, from the planning stages all way up through clean up late Sunday night!  It takes the involvement and support from everyone that attended, and lent a hand in any way, to make this and any event Benefit4Kids holds or attends a success!

We would also like to thank the numerous sponsors, donors, businesses, and organizations that helped us achieve a positive outcome to help the numerous kids we have awaiting an “Outdoor Wish” right now!  Without all of this, there is no way this fundraiser would be a success, and still going strong 12 years after it first started!

With that said, Benefit4Kids is proud to report a record profit for this annual event of just over $29,000!!!
Highlights of the weekend include:
- All but 3 or 4 targets/stations were sponsored
- A surprise lump sum donation of $7,250.00 from the Northwest Towns Sportsman Club in northern IL – Thank you NWTSC
- Special 21 arrow memorial shoot to recognize and honor long time B4K supporter, Bob Rezny, who passed away recently
- Having numerous wish kids & their families in attendance
- Raising some funds for the “Team Timmy” organization to help with their goals and mission of helping kids with cancer
- Another great log dedication around the worlds greatest campfire Saturday night
- Having friends and supporters from as far away as Northern Illinois and Ottawa Canada in attendance all weekend long

We would also like to send a special thank you out to all our main sponsors, who really helped B4K with this event off:

 -  The Pig Pen Ranch, our Title Sponsor
 -  The Michigan Bow Hunters Association, our Presenting Sponsor
 -   Members of the Electric Campfire, our Dinner Sponsor
 -   Huron Pointe Sportsmen’s Club, and all of their members, for once
again welcoming us to use their facility to host our event
For everyone that was there and witnessed the balloon launch, in an effort to see how far our mission could reach, we have received one response back from Rodney, Ontario Canada.  This was an email response that came in on Sunday night (June 14th) after finding the paper scroll and ribbon, which it was tied to, in their yard that afternoon.
Thanks again everyone, and we hope to see you all again at our 2010 event!

3rd Annual Little Heroes Golf Outing - Lapeer Country Club - June 13th 2009
NOTE: “Benefit4Kids is the 2009 Recipient of this year's proceeds”

5th Annual Benefit4Kids Winter Pig Roast Fundraiser

Benefit4Kids would like to thank everyone that had a part in making the 2009 B4K Winter Pig Roast Fundraiser a complete success!  With your help we were able to raise an unprecedented $34,000 for our “Outdoor Wish Program”!  This total completely exceeded our expectations and goals, considering the state of the economy at this time, and we are so grateful for the most generous support.  All of this was possible because of the numerous businesses, clubs, individuals, and organizations that stepped up to make a difference in the life of a child!

We would like to thank our Hosting Sponsor Perch Point Conservation Club for once again opening up their complete facility, and welcoming us back for yet another banquet!  Every year it is a pleasure working with Perch Point, and its incredible membership.  Many of the Perch Point members attend the banquet, and are always willing to lend a hand with whatever is needed!  Benefit4Kids would also like to thank this years Presenting Sponsor, Waterfowl USA, St. Clair Flats Chapter #1 for accepting this role to help achieve the ultimate goal of putting yet another smile on the face of a much less fortunate child!  Many thanks also go to our (5) Awareness Sponsors: Friends of Miller Electric, MICPL , The John Gornyecz Family, Michigan Gun Owners, as well as The Mark Walkowski Family.  We had a record 41 Table Sponsors this year as well!

Thanks to all of our sponsors, the many businesses and individuals for their generous donations - consisting of outdoor products, hunts, fishing trips, artwork, etc.  Without this generosity, we never would have been able to achieve such a remarkable total – thank you.  Please visit the 2009 Program (WARNING: File is very large!) to see a list of all the businesses and individuals, who contributed so generously to make the 2009 B4K Winter Pig Roast such a successful event.

Dreamweaver & Big Jon Charity Fun Tournament - July 20, 2008
Benefit4Kids would like to thank the West MI Fishing League, Dreamweaver Spoons, Big Jon, (among many other sponsors), along with everyone that showed up to fish in this years tournament to make this fundraiser a huge success!  When all said and done, over $4800 was raised and donated to Benefit4Kids to sponsor Nick Wallace's "Outdoor Wish" trip to Alaska to fish for huge Salmon the Kenai River in Alaska is known for!

Great Lakes Longbow Invitational XXIV - August 8-10, 2008
Benefit4Kids would like to thank long time supporters, The Michigan Longbow Association, for once again allowing us to be part of this great event and for their donation.  This years event brought in just over $1600.00 to allow us to continue granting the "Outdoor Wishes" of those children less fortunate than most, we work with on a daily basis.

5th Annual Joe Vincent Memorial Archery shoot - August 23-24, 2008
Benefit4Kids is excited to be part of this years event, hosted by a new supporting club, Land O Lakes Bowmen in northern Livingston county.  This weekend archery shoot brought in over 200 shooters throughout the Hot and Humid weekend.  Just over $1200.00 was raised throughout the weekend between the 17 target Rinehart exotic animal shoot consisting of Dinosaurs, Jack-a-lopes, poison frogs, giant king cobra snakes, etc that B4K set up and the special auction held in which items were provided by Rocky's in Burton Michigan.

11th Annual Amy Pray Outdoor Weekend - June 21st & 22nd 2008
June 21st – 22nd Benefit4Kids hosted the 11th Annual Amy Pray Outdoor Weekend which proved to be another successful event, thanks to everyone that sponsored a target, donated a raffle or auction item, showed up to participate in the weekends activities, purchased a raffle ticket or bought something in the live auction!  We were able to successfully raise over $17,000 which will go a long ways to help us continue granting the “Outdoor Wishes” of the kids we work with.

Despite some early and midday rain on Saturday, we had many people show up to camp and spend the entire weekend with us, and many more just for the day to shoot one of the archery courses or try their skills in one of the 3 shotgun events!  Everyone had smiles on their faces all day long…….even those that got soaked as they were caught on the archery course near the back of the property when the second storm came through!  There were numerous kids enjoying all the activities all weekend as well, whether it was shooting a bow for the first time, trying their skills at the SCI Laser Shot booth, shooting a paint ball gun, or seeing who could eat a slice of watermelon the fastest at our newest contest!

Saturday nights pig roast was one of the best, and a huge Thank You is in order for the couple of members that stepped up from Huron Pointe to donate their time and equipment to prepare an excellent meal for everyone!  Saturday night’s auction ended with the famous “dunk the staff” auction, and after drying off and gathering everyone around, we ended the night with our very special log dedication campfire in which many laughs, tears, honors, and memories were shared late into the night!

We were fortunate to have had seven wish kids in attendance which included:  Mark “the brat” Golden, Justin Bradford, Michael Frame, Douglas Dobbs, Douglas Lovell, Lauren Chisholm and Greg Kornacki.  Benefit4Kids was able to surprise one of the newest kids, Douglas Lovell, with news that he would be going bear hunting in New Brunswick Canada this October, something he has always dreamed about but never thought he could do.  Douglas had no idea that his mom had submitted the paperwork to B4K, which made this even more of a surprise to him!

Benefit4Kids would like to send out a special thank you to Huron Pointe Sportsmen’s Club for once again donating their great facility, which makes holding this size of an event possible, and allows Benefit4Kids to raise the much needed funds which allow us to continue to do what we do.  If it were not for clubs such as Huron Pointe and its members who came out to lend a hand whether it was in the kitchen, on the trap fields, or to clean up the grounds and/or cutting grass prior to the event, this weekend would not have been possible!  If you live in S.E. MI and are looking for something fun to do with the family, check out Huron Pointe at www.huronpointe.org and I’m sure one of their many activities will interest you!

We would also like to send a special thank you to this years sponsors: The Pig Pen Ranch (www.thepigpenranch.com),  Jay’s Sporting Goods (www.jayssportinggoods.com), the Sportsman’s Warehouse (www.sportsmanswarehouse.com), as well as all the individuals, companies, clubs, and organizations that sponsored a target at this year’s event!  Without the tremendous support and donations from all these sponsors….this year’s event would not have been as successful as it was!

Thank you again for the continued support and generosity you have shown to B4K in 2008 which will allow us to continue bringing the smiles to the faces of the kids we work with, and warmth in their souls after living their “Outdoor Wishes” and creating memories that will last their family a lifetime!
